Has anyone else seen the documentary called "after the apocalypse" that is up on the 40d site

if not have a look - parts can be disturbing , make sure if your watching near a child so that they cant see it, or a nervous girlfriend/wifewarn them in advance ( public service announcement over )

    "
During the Soviet era, the people of Semipalatinsk in Kazakhstan were used as human guinea pigs in the testing of nuclear weapons. Today the residents believe they are living with the consequences: one in 20 children is born with defects.
This True Stories film focuses on those whose lives have been shaped by this past, including a maternity doctor who enthusiastically pilots a 'genetic passport' scheme to stop women with bad genes from getting pregnant, and a local resident fighting for her right to have a child.
There is no scientific consensus on how radiation affects human genetics, but this does not detract from the harrowing scenarios this community faces and its struggle to cope with the country's history. "

Kazakhstan to my eyes and as i understood the film ,the national policy on these matter is eugenics , and they even talk about Hitler and the Nazis using it ,
what is strange its not just the nutty professor who is all for this but it looked like everyone who worked in the maternity hospital as well

is it just me that thinks this is just slightly mental ???

if you have seen it am i right in my assumption ?
if not watch it , but you have been warned not for person's of a nervous disposition

( this is not a question on the rights and wrongs of the subject matter as such - the question is more is that what they are really at ?? )

bye the way that is where the next eurovision is being held

I heard that Ireland at the same time were also secretly testing atomic weapons in the south west of the country in order to be ready for any future war that might threaten our neutrality.

The effects of these tests on the local population were, to say the least, disturbing. :(

Yeah I caught that show. Twas quite disturbing. I thought the main doctor was so gruff and quite peed off with the women who became pregnant. He wanted them all sterilised I think. He definitely used Hitler as a template for how to deal with the 'problem.' The people seemed so terribly poor but the extended family all cared for each other. These people should be receiving some sort of compensation for what they went through not being talked down to like they are fools who know no better. I felt that the maternity nurses/doctors were completly cruel to the women. Yep, it came across as eugenics, plain and obvious. Was a terribly difficult show to watch as a mother,or as a healthy human in relative comfort.

I've had a look at other photos and I'm still none the wiser. I think it may actually be drawn on with marker.

If their genetic structure is so degraded do to radioactive exposure they should not breed or if they attempt they should be actively prevented.
If x-men has shown us anything and i believe it has, is that humans and mutants can never co-exist peacefully.
