Palladium v's Platinum engagement rings

Hi, new to Boards and can't find the following... the pro's and cons of choosing palladium over platinum for my engagement ring. I know it is alot cheaper but someone mentioned to me that it goes alot duller than platinum (almost dirty looking??).Would really appreciate some advice. :)
