2.2 is 175 afaik but rare. A new Mondeo 163 with the powershift box would be nice.

2.0 TDCi Mondeo is 140bhp or 160bhp. 2.2 TDCi is 175bhp. Titanium spec Mondeos cost silly money when new though.

I'd have the Superb Elegance with a few options ticked instead.

Never driven a superb. Going by looks alone, reviews or whatever. Driven the new140ps mondeo. Nice car.

I thought I was in the same boat recently picking between Mondeo and Superb (both Estates). Had decided I far prefered the Superb if I could get 170BHP Elegane model, but then company told me it had to be a Ford! Have just the other day put through request for Titanium 163 with a couple of extras (according to website/brochures the BHP is selection of 140 or 163 on the 2.0TDCi - don't think 2.2TDCi is available in Ireland). Looking forward to receiving it, but I gather order time is minimum of 8-10 weeks :(. Have thrown in a couple of extras like Keyless Start, Child Pack and Winter Pack (there was a small allowance) but it still won't have the amount of gadgets that the Superb would've had!

The mondeo. Really nice cars, great to drive, very comfy. so I prefer the Mondeo myself. You couldn't go wrong with either but personally I'd got for the mondeo :D

Mondeo Titanium is a very nice car - had someone collect a 163 Estate last month, but I'd be going for the Superb 170 Elegance instead.

Seats in the Superb Elegance are incredibly comfortable, specification is very high, and it's pretty decent on fuel too (well the saloon/hatch is - haven't driven an estate yet).

OP - hope you aren't in a rush. Mondeo Estate would be September/October if ordered now and I think the Superb's are roughly the same lead time. Coming to October it's getting a bit late in the year to reg new cars, so would be better to hold it over for January 2012 delivery.

thanks for all input.Have decided to go for the superb combi as the call it with 170bhp in elegance trim with sunroof as only extra.Would have got the dsg box only lease budget wouldnt stretch.Main reason is loads of kit and have a mondeo titanium 08 at the minute which is a great car but decided a change is best. One thing i have learned is the advice of the waiting list and am now going to order the car for jan 12 as the waiting list is approx 13 weeks for the model. Thanks for all the input.Getting it in black by the way
