I have a Belling cooker and one of the rings stays on even after i switch it off. I have to switch off the cooker on the wall to stop it. Any ideas ?

Its likely the simmer stat needs to be replaced. Slight possibility the feed to the stat and the switch wire to the hotplate could be shorted together, but this is unlikely and would mean the hotplate would be on full all the time the cooker is on. New stat is the likely fix.
