JobBridge more cynical then we think?

There's more then a few threads on this, but this one is separate to question the motives behind it.

TL;DR: Countless numbers of internships are being shown to be in violation of the T&C of JobBridge as well as replacing jobs that were previously advertised as payed.

So let's look at this another way, the Govt budgets have actively been accounting for emigration as a means to reduce the welfare budget, and now skilled people on welfare are now facing a dire choice, get gouged for free in a job that doesn't match your skill's or career path or kicked off the dole.

This only leaves one choice: LEAVE!

And from the Govt's POV, this is advantageous from a number of angles:
    • Less welfare claimants
    • Improved unemployment numbers
    • Those who get gouged input to the economy with little investment required from the Govt.
    • P.R.

Government in this country has shown time and time again it's contempt for the people who pay it's bills, and I feel that yet again this is no different.

Is there an obligation to engage in the internship scheme?

Is there an obligation to engage in the internship scheme?

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/burton-vows-to-end-dole-lifestyle-choice-2823665.html
Social welfare has become a "lifestyle choice" for many leaving school, a situation which is totally unacceptable and will no longer be tolerated, Social Protection Minister Joan Burton has said.

"What we are getting at the moment is people who come into the system straight after school as a lifestyle choice. This is not acceptable, everyone should be expected to contribute and work," Ms Burton said.

Speaking to the Sunday Independent, Ms Burton said those who failed to cooperate with her department by not taking job or training opportunities would lose up to €44 a week.

    and previously from her:

THE jobless face cuts to their dole if they refuse to take up work or training offers under a new crackdown.

Minister for Social Protection Joan Burton is to introduce new rules where people on unemployment benefits will face financial penalties for the first time if they consistently refuse to take up offers of training, education, or course placements.

The recession is simply a lifestyle choice!!!!!!!!!

I don't see an actual answer to my question there to be honest. I haven't heard anything about people being obliged to participate in the internship schemes, but I'm not certain what the situation is.

And I can't see anything terribly objectionable in what she said, though she should have been more careful to avoid generalising about the unemployed.

It's just a cynical viewpoint on something being done in plain view. The Govt has previously said that they are budgeting on the basis of people emigrating, JobBridge is aligned with such a policy, in that you either give freely and be gouged or get out because otherwise you'll have nothing to live on.

To be honest the government announcing jobs is such horse sh;t.
It's like Tesco announcing they are creating 200 jobs by opening a new store. That maybe true but they are probably costing 400 jobs to local traders
