Hello all - I am leaving my job in a few weeks (thank Christ) and am wondering when I should hand in my notice? I've been working there over two years but less than three years. People tell me it's about two weeks, another person though said it's one month. Any ideas?

It depends sometimes on your pay period? Where I work, you have to give a pay periods notice. If paid monthly, it's a month.
Depends on the company really. Check your contract. It might be stated on that?

The main reason I ask is because I can't find my contract ;)

My pay period is weekly actually, and other staff member who've left in the past only had to give a week's notice. However they had been working for shorter periods than me (a year or less), so I'm wondering if I need to give more notice.

Generally, where I have worked in the past, a month has been the time frame, but that was stated on my contract of employment and tallied with the pay frequency.
I'd say you'll either have to ask someone who has been there the same length to have a gander at their contract but it may not be the same anyway.
Perhaps have a chat with HR?

    hi OP.

from memory any employment period less then 3 year requires 2 weeks notice, unless otherwise stated in your contract. since you are leaving anyway just ask your HR dept. but a rule of thumb is based on your pay period. 2 weeks should be fine in your case.

just asked my HR manager who confirmed this. 2 weeks notice for period of 2-5 years service where pay period is weekly. unless expressly stated in your contract, but ask anyway.
