For what it's worth, I didn't think the movie was that bad. No worse than 3 & much better than 4, but of all the pointless scenes in a movie, this one is it...

Superman returns is the only film i have ever walked out of the cinema before it finished, turned to the mrs and asked "is this as bad as i think?" she replied "yep do you want to leave".

    we left.

cool deleted scene. I didn't think the film was bad, just that it wasn't particularly good. Lex Luger, fighting over land, was a bit unimpressed. That and i didn't like Lois Lane at all, herself and supes looked 15. Although i think Routh is a great fit for a young Superman. Thought it warranted a sequel but oh well.

Impressive from a video/audio perspective, but what exactly is going on in the clip?

    He's a **** driver thats for sure.

Tell me this - how did Kryptonians ever evolve in the first place if they are allergic to their own planet ?

I've always been relatively fond of Superman Returns myself - saw it twice in the cinema if I recall. Had a pleasantly old-fashioned feel to it. I do think it all descended into fairly mindless CGI fluff near the end, alas. Quite redundant in many ways too - nearly a remake of Superman 1 in some respects! But yeah I definitely didn't hate it with the passion others did.

Strange deleted scene, and odd they deleted it since they clearly spent a lot on it - visuals and audios are impressive. But yes, pointless it most certainly is.

He's exploring the remnants of Krypton that we were told he left Earth to find. I wouldn't call it a pointless scene by any measure, but it wasn't necessary in the end for the narrative.

Aha, I see, been a long time since I've seen the films so didn't recall the exact reason he went into space!

Still, very tonally peculiar in the context of the rest of the film.

The pieces of Kryton that came to Earth were irradiated when the planet exploded.

I always thought it was just the same effect as red sun radiation has on him, because he gets all his power from our yellow sun the radiation from kryptonite weakens him because on krypton he would only have the strength of a normal human.....or something.

Wow, really takes the Christian symbolism and slaps you in the face with it.
