Noticed the other day a part of my car at the back window the paint is starting to blister, like rust is forming under it, ive owned the car since day 1, just wondering do i have a leg to stand on bringing it back to the dealers,, i know the car is 6 years old but surely it shouldnt be showing signs of rust so early,
any help or advice would be great, thanks

Mazda's paintwork warranty is usually only 3 years so it wouldn't be covered.

Is there any evidence of a stone chip which could have started it? What do you use when washing it? If it's washing up liquid, stop. The salt in it promotes rust.

Is VW's the same do ya know?

In my case that's exactly what started it - there's a small chip right above the driver's door on the roof that's now rusting :( Must stick up a pic later

Anti-perforation warranty is longer than 3 years.
    Its 6 i think...phone your dealer.

I sold my mazda 6 at the weekend, it was a 2005 aswell, had some rust around the door and spoiler. Could be a problem with them models?

    Was the window ever changed?

I was informed by a windscreen fitter that when changing a bonded windscreen, make sure to use a rust-prooting paint around the edges of the apeture as the tool used to cut the mastic can nick the paint. This lets water in.....

I'm pretty sure the anti corrosion warranty is for rusting from the inside out. Stone chip perforation causing rust isn't usually covered I think

went out to my mazda dealer yesterday, he took pictures and was really surprized where the car was rusting, So he said he,d check with mazda Ireland and get back to me,, I rang him today he said he didnt bother going near mazda because the car would need to be checked yearly to have any sort of come back and that the warranty is only for 3 years, So i asked was that the anti perforation warranty, he said that it doesnt cover stone chips, I told him its not a stone chip the paint is coming off from the underneath,
it looks like a stone chip he reckons, but dares no paint missing,
anyone any suggestion as what i can do now,
    thanks

Typical Mazda warranty they will fob you off with a lame excuse every time.
