Replacing the hard drive in a 120GB iPod Classic

So I've done the hard bit and opened the unit and removed the drive and am now waiting for the new drive to install it. But what I'm wondering is once I connect it what do I need to do, as I assume I need to install drivers/firmware etc. and the device is unlikely to be recognised by a PC given that the hard drive will be blank. Is it as simple as connecting to iTunes and choosing restore?

    Thanks.
