What is the best option for selling your car nowadays?

I am looking at selling my car but am unsure what the best bet is in terms of where to advertise it.

(I won't post the car details as I'm not looking for opinions on what it's worth)

I know it's hard to get decent money for anything with the way things are currently but it's been a while since I've been in the market whether buying or selling second hand and I was wondering what people would reccommend.

Are car auctions a good idea for example?

What about ebay? Does it cost much in fees to advertise and sell on there?

Are you likely to get more timewasters advertising on carzone/autotrader etc?

Any general advice would be most helpful, cheers.

Selling a car is hard as I found out about 6 months ago.

Anything over 1.6 petrol has to be fairly well priced to get it shifted.

Well priced = not exactly what you would have wanted for it.

Thats my experience anyway. The likes of donedeal would probably be the best place.

.......... The likes of donedeal would probably be the best place.

+1, donedeal, if it's priced competitively it should find a new home.

donedeal is the best place for cars up to around 15k, everything under 5k thats well priced sells quickly.

Obviously depending on where you are located but there is a dealer in Cork city that will sell the car for you for a fixed fee (http://www.blackrockmotorcompany.com/). He looks after the warranty, avertising etc. I used him last November to move on my last car. Car was not worth much (ie between 2 to 3k) but he had it sold in less than 2 weeks.

I had already got my new car so suited me better not to have the old one in the drive way. But depending on your situation, this option may not work for you.
