Amateur Boxing new scoring system

The old scoring system of 3 judges needing to press within a second is gone, from now on the scoring system is individual based and then they average out the scores, so for example if 5 judges score a round 10, 5, 6, 7, 2 then the 10 and 2 will be removed as useless scores and the 5,6 and 7 will be added up and divided by 3 giving a score of 6-there is 2 scoring systems that the computer automatically does but that is the general idea of it-Body shots are going to start beencounted getting rid of the ultra defensive style and throwing more punches will mean you'll score more points.

Basically Boxing is going to become a lot more exciting again and will be harder to cheat as if you over or under score it wont have a bearing on the fight.

Im excited as i always detested the old scoring system which never made sense and was ruining a great sport.

    Anyway-Discuss if you feel free..

I think if a count is awarded then 2 points should go to the fighter scoring the count. Too many times NO scores were awarded. If a ref deems that a count is justified, then 2 point should go to the fighter scoring the count.

its in now Bren so no joy on that, but the judges can take there time pressing the buttons and evaluate if its a clean strike or not as there not expected to do it within a second.

Basically if you land clean you most likely will score a point, and if you land 3 punches they can just hit the button 3 times without a panic, meaning combinations are more worth doing now, the days of 1 point up and cover up are gone.

I was not aware of that recently. I knew that if you received a public warning then you lost two points OR your foe gained two points. Thanks.

Same applies now, and I'd it ends in draw and person has public warning that will double penalise you and you will lose the fight.

New system is designed to make boxing more entertaining and cut out the bad decisions, apparently since it's came in it's been working a treat.

I'm excited about it been honest, wish it was in whe I boxed

This is great news. Now we can appreciate some well executed body shots once again. Hope this new system improves fights. The old scoring system kind of sucked the soul out of some decent boxers.

This should make for less countbacks also hopefully???
