Parking Fine

Guys I received a parking fine in a public car park back on the 7th of June this year.
I came back to find a ticket on the car and the inspector taking photos of the car.
I was a little confused because I had a valid ticket in the car.
When I came upon the car I realised I had placed it the wrong way in the driver side window.
Inspector was very helpful and explained the process of appeal.
He finished taking the photos and then took one of me holding the valild ticket, gave me his badge number etc.

So I emailed an enquiry off to the fines people in kildare co co.
They said that the fine would be on hold till it had gone throught the appeals process. They said I would hear the result via a postal response.
It had been six weeks and I still haven't heard anything back.

I worried I haven't received anything back yet as in case the decision has gone against me and the letter was somehow lost in the post.
Not looking for legal advice at all.
Just wondering has anyone else gone throught appeals with Kildare co. co. and how long the process took.

I would think because the inspector was good enough to take a photo of you with the correct ticket for parking the appeal may well go in your favour and the whole thing may already have been dealt with?

You can ring the parking fines office and enquire

Helpful???? WTF??? If he was that helpful, why didn't he just forget the whole thing once he saw you had a valid ticket???

He's probably not allowed to. I'd say once he's punched the information into his machine he can't delete/undo it.

Doubtful that he wouldn't be able to undo it. What would he do if he entered some details incorrectly and had to correct them? I think it's far more likely that the guys working in these car parks are happy to pretend they can't alter or rescind a ticket as it makes arguing with them pointless. I do multi drop delivery work and have had many arguments with cops, traffic wardens, car park attendants and clampers. Some you win, some you lose. Have gotten plenty tickets but also have got some torn up on the spot. A lot depends on who you're dealing with and how you handle them. That's only my experience though.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just hold onto the wardens badge number and your valid parking permit. If a court summons does arrive, appear with aforementioned details, watch the case get struck out and enjoy your day in court as an innocent man/woman.:D

However, I doubt either an appeal result or court summons will arrive. The whole matter has most likely been binned by the incompetent people responsible.

    That doesn't happen too often....:D

Spot on with the advice though.

    Guys got my answer today.
I was found guilty of the offense, but they have given me a warning.
Happy with the result to be honest. :D:D

Was the ticket upside down or face down ? I can understand if the ticket cant be read but not if it was just upside down.

It was a book of scatch tickets. I put the book in the side window. Didn't realise I had put it facing in till I had arrived back, as I was rushing around that day.

For those who were saying he should just have let it go it was a printed ticket so would have been on their system.

Got the best result I could have hoped for.

Glad it worked out ok for you. If it had been me in that situation it probably wouldn't have worked out so well. Good chance I'd have b0ll0cked someone out of it and landed in deeper trouble. You had a valid ticket but had it displayed incorrectly, yep, I'd have spit fire over that.... Out of interest, what were you warned about??
