Midday (TV3) - thoughts?

From the odd bits I've seen it strikes me as one of those 'let's feign outrage/get a bit uppity' type of shows. Can't be bothered with it.

christ, this is truly awful


just been watching it the last 15 minutes for my sins

one slightly bitter middle-aged blonde one in the corner was going on about how she wants to be as gender neutral as possible with her kids and that her son has lots of role models like footballers and soldiers and her daughter only has princesses and stuff, basically it sounds like she is ashamed of her own gender and wants to be a man.....then after her long ill-informed lecture about trying to be gender neutral, preaching about rooting out sexism and all the usual guff - well just 5 minutes later they are talking about online dating and she says in her view girls should look for a guy who has a good sense of humour, a guy who is good around the house and a guy who is good in bed and then most importanly make sure that they all never meet and then starts breaking her hole laughing

i know better than to take it too seriously but by god it's annoying tv - why do people watch it?

Imagine a show where four guys sat around taking potshots at women every day, the show wouldn't last 5 minutes

therefore this show demonstrates the sexist double standards in the media that decree men are fair game for all sorts of abuse but any mildly suggestive comment that is potentially offensive to women is immediately censored and gets a hysterical reaction

what this also demonstrates is that men tend not to take this stuff so seriously and rightfully in my view refuse to dignify it by paying even the slightest bit of attention to it although of course i acknowledge that ironically I am drawing attention to it in this post i.e. we should be aware of it but i'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it, instead i prefer to write them off as a kind of nightmare daily hen-nightesque party of cackling biddies talking nonsense

Since when has Sinead Desmond taken over the hosting of Midday ? is this permanent ?
I gave up watching Ireland AM because she irritated me so much

Saw about 20mins of it when I was in a waiting room. What a load of shįte, how anyone can justify sitting through that each day beggars belief.
