Group B aerial required for Woodcock Hill. Is your aerial installed outside? Can you post a pic of the aerial?

Roughly where are you located, another transmitter might be more suitable for your location? Generally a masthead amp shouldn't be required for DTT.

i am directly south of woodcock, it was the clearest signal on the day, it is outside, on a mast.

Yeah do stick up here a picture of the aerial if you can. How long ago was this aerial put up? Was there a new cable run into your house from the new aerial, at the time?

How are the analogue channels when the weather is dry and good, and do they worsen much when the weather deteriorates?

Is the aerial pointing at any nearby trees northwards?

i will take a pic later on, there is nothing in the way, new cable ariel ps and amp were all installed, when the weather is fine and even reasonably bad the pic is perfect, only when it is realy wet and windy does it freeze.

What's the picture like when using the regular 4 analogue channels? The saorview signal will always work perfectly until it reaches a point where it stops working completely. The analogue signal can be more revealing of problems, hence why I asked to see if the analogue channels are working well in good or bad weather or if the reception fluctuates between good and snowy etc.

It's not pointing through any nearby trees towards Woodcock Hill is it?

Is the aerial connected to the one TV/set top box or is there a splitter or distribution amp to provide Saorview in other rooms?

I wonder if you have borderline coverage from Woodcock Hill which you lose in bad weather? Which transmitter does the coverage checker indicate as the best for your area?

Could also be a masthead amp fault.

Is there a yellow colour plastic bug on the aerial like the one in this post?

hi cush, according to the data you have supplied, i am on the wrong transmitter, there is no colour on the end of the ariel, i will try and get it moved over the weekend, or as soon as the first likely victim arrives for a cup of tea.

No colour or black tip could indicate a wideband antenna which should be suitable also (http://www.tvtrade.ie/digital-tv-aerial-selection-guide.html)

Which transmitter did the coverage checker indicate was the most suitable for your area?
