What format to back up my DVDs on Hard drive

    Hi,

Would like to back up entire DVD collection onto hard drives. The idea is then that I can play the files through USB or streaming on a new "smart" TV or Blu ray player.

I would like not to lose any functionality from the DVDs, such as menus, audio set up and subtitles.

I want to keep the ability to switch on/off subtitles and where applicable want to be able to choose subtitle language.

Don't think avi format will do this, but was wondering if I could use iso format and if it would be supported by modern TVs or blu ray players, and if not what format would be best ( and somewhat future proof).

I was hoping to have a folder with name of DVD and in there there would be one file I need to select , which will then bring up the DVD menu and I can then play it as if it was a DVD.

Related to that, what SW would do this the easiest and fastest way ? I have used DVD shirnk in the past and it worked well if you want to back up on DVDs, however you compress the video, which I don't necessarily need to do now as it doesn't need to fit on a DVD.

    Thanks for some help here
