I just finished repeating my LC and although I am yet to receive my results, Im expecting to get offered a place in NUIG. My mother was a staff member at NUIG for nearly 35 years and said that I can avail of free fees if I get offered a college course in the college she worked in and some other colleges?? Does anyone know how much of the fees are paid by the college, where do I get the forms?
    Thanks

As far as I am aware, I think that scheme was abolished - they used to pay the registration fees of staff member's children, but my mother is also a lecturer at NUIG and looked into it when I started college, to no avail.

However, she's only been working there a few years now so it may be a different case for you. But, either way, I wouldn't hold your breath really..

I hope that scheme was abolished. Nepotism in this country is one of the many things that are wrong with it.

(I say that but my dad benefited from that scheme back in the day)
