I've been looking at various auctions from this seller, this is the most recent

    http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=260821206856&Category=9936&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2

But he only takes bank transfers, which sets alarm bells ringing in my head. Also, he has the same bike listed twice with different prices....although this is the fist time I've seen this seller do this, and I've been watching different auctions of his for several months now.

His buyers all seem happy, is fake feedback possible on ebay? I've only ever bought small items on ebay, never anything over the €100 mark.

Can anyone give me some advice on this....i'm very tempted. The price, while cheaper than Irish prices, is not too far off the mark, ie, not really too good be true kinda deal. But the standard of the work (if the pics are to be believed) is extremely good, and the style is exactly what I'm after.

if it's close enough to the going rate, then buy local.
you will get hammered with customs, and then afaik there's VRT too.
and bank transfers halfway across the world can be a bit risky, with little or no comeback.
also, buying locally makes it easier for repairs, the parts used by the Vietnamese seller could be very different than those used by an irish seller.

I think maybe u can have a try, I have the experience buying on ebay, some are good indeed, but not all are fine ,but if you have problems with the seller ,maybe you can open a case ,the ebay will freeze the seller's account, I hope this will help.

without payal though he'd have pretty much no chance of getting his money back if something did happen

The seller is hardly making any profit is he? How much would it cost to ship a Vespa from the far east to here? Seems odd he has included free shipping and the bike only costs 1300.

Thanks guys, I think maybe I'll message the seller and see if they will accept paypal, maybe a higher price to include paypal fees. If he says no then I'll steer well clear.

    .

Yes - fake feedback is possible on eBay .
You say that the purchase price is not far off the mark of Irish prices , so my advice would be to stay away from this and buy locally .

You are probably aware that this item will probably end up in a container in Felixtowe , where you will incur a lot of extra charges to trans-ship to Ireland .
