    being gharial like I assume it was mainly a fish eater. But if it was so big, it makes me wonder on what it's food supply may have been.

    Yes, probably mainly a fish eater, but let us not forget that the false gharial eats deer and monkeys once in a while, and this one even ate a grown up man (its not the first time it happens) after snatching him from shallow waters:
