Hi, I am looking to get a book on basic bookkeeping, for keeping the records required when submitting income tax returns (e.g. trading account, balance sheet etc.)

Obviously there are loads of basic bookkeeping books out there, but I was wondering does anybody here know of one that focuses on self-assessment, and if possible, in the Irish context!?!

    Thanks in advance!

There are free guides you can download from revenue.ie and other sites if you look them up online e.g. the banks produce them, as do some government sites. If you are a member of the small firms assoc or ISME they have them too for members.

for about 20 euro you can buy a "small traders account book" which is a book with preprinted row and column headings for what you need.
