Tool for removing UPC cables from wall?

I transferred my account with UPC to a new apartment over the phone, and the operator told me I could just move the UPC box to the new flat myself for free, and once it was hooked up they'd enable my current account at the new location.

The problem is that I can't remove the wiring from the wall, because it's screwed on, and I don't own an appropriate wrench(?).

Does anyone know what size and specific tool is used to remove UPC cables?

Should be an 8 or 10mm spanner, but it's definitely a standard spanner.

If you're really stuck, any kind of gripping instrument like a pliers will eventually work. They're not attached particularly tightly, but they're usually in a very awkward position to get a grip with your bare hand.

I measured mine and it's 11mm which works out at about 7/16 inch in old money.

Thanks, I'll probably pick up a set of needlenose pliers in that case.

I don't think they ever go out of usefulness.

For that job I'd buy a small adjustable wrench.

Needlenose pliers did the job perfectly. Got the cables out in no time.

I would have gone for the adjustable wrench as you say, but since the cables are mounted so close to the wall and so close together, I wasn't sure I could have gotten a proper grip with a wrench or even a regular pliers.
