Hey, guys, i opened a thread before about the guy i met online. he said he did not see a future with me although he found me attractive and all that. he also said he has never been in a relationship long term and would be scared to break my heart like he did to other women before.

we agree to be friends and try our best to cut the physical contact. we now just go for a walk or a coffee something like that. he is a decent guy that way.

and he recently starts dating another woman he met on the web site. things are going well with them although it's very early day. i have also arranged a date with another guy and chatting with guys online that i might meet in person later.

the problem is i found both of us still have a bit emotional connections between each other. i would feel a tiny bit of jealousy inside and i know he has the same feelings too. i feel it's not good for both of us and also a bit unfair to the person he is seeing and i am going to see.

so, i am thinking, maybe it's better we cut all the contact at this moment. but i really like him as a person and i really want to keep him as a friend.

i was thinking to write him an email to explain. but maybe it's better i just disappear for a period of time?

    advice? tks!

If you were that emotionally connected you'd be together and in a relationship. Sounds like a non-starter. If you harbour feelings for him then yes, it's best to just contact so you can give yourself a proper chance of dating new people without having him hovering in the background. I wouldn't bother with an email, I'd just stop contacting him.

He likes you but he does not want to hurt you and he knows this is what will happen if ye get involved.

There is a physical attraction there for both of ye but nothing permanent will come from it.

Yeah cut contact OP, you'll make other friends. He was very clear that he's a danger to your heart, save yourself the heartache. If a guy says that to you it's silly to pursue anything with him and if there's an attraction there it'll probably happen. I wouldn't be too happy if I were the girl he's seeing now, he seems to be a messer alright.
