Mysterious hardware interrupt Latitude D620

    Hello clever people,

I'm fixing up an old dell D620 laptop at the moment. I know this model suffers alot from mobo problems, but I still love the lappy due to its build quality.

    Anyway here's the problem:

When the laptop bios is completing I tend to get alot of non-maskable interrupt messages popping up. Something like 'NMI parity error at address F001 E1B1.' This hinders the booting a bit, but the boot is allowed to continue.

When this interrupt occurs while the windows kernel is loaded, I get the BSOD with 'parity/iocheck error' and 'Call your hardware vendor for support' messages.

I have stripped the laptop completely of all perepherals, leaving only enough hardware to boot windows from, and still the error persisted. I also swapped out the RAM, and booted windows from an external hdd with the same results.

The curious thing is that linux runs without crashing, although the keyboard doesn't respond at times, even after swapping keyboards. Using a dell diagnostic disk for the E series ( I couldnt find the D series one) the diagnostic crashed at the sticky keys keyboard test, with the 'NMI parity error' bios message appearing multiple times on the screens left side. Is the keyboard controller screwed?

I would be seriously interested in anybody's thoughts and ideas.

    Cheers
