Does anyone know how much it costs to get an ink refill in the likes of Cartridge Green and The Cartridge Shop? It's a colour refill for a HP Photosmart printer, however I've never bought an ink refill before so have absolutely no idea how much it'd cost? I've tried looking up the websites of the aforementioned shops but they don't list prices  Can anyone give me a ball park figure or even tell me how much they usually pay for refills?

It really depends on the cartridge but have found refills from that kind of place to be usually lower end of 33%-50% of the price of a branded replacement cartridge at Irish retail prices .

I have used these one's on my hp printer, just have to take the chip off your old one's, there's a video on YouTube how to do it.

    I highly recommend InkMaestro.
Replacement cartridges are never as good as genuine cartridges but I think these guys offer best quality for the price. They sell both original and replacement cartridges on the website. Replacements are branded "Digital Revolution".

There is one general problem with replacements and Digital Revolution are not an exception - you have to print at least one page per month otherwise they tend to dry up.

shop around-there are plenty of companies doing cheap refilled cartridges. they are not as good as a factory made cartridge but are usually fine for home use.
a good compromise is to use a compatible or generic cartridge. these usually are about 25% cheaper than a branded ink, but as they are made in factory conditions, the quality tends to be a lot closer to the branded ink

Check out Tesco. Seriously, find out which one you need and wait for them to go on special offer. They sometimes do 2 for 1's or 30% off a lot.

We got lucky once when the sign was out of date or something and we got €120 worth of ink for free :)
