    Hey,

Mods - I'm unsure if this the appropriate place for this so move if needed.

Guys, I'm looking at sending my Nanny in America a tiny piece of soil from Ireland.

Does anyone know if this type of thing is allowed in the post?

    Thanks for the help

Just mix it with boiling water and dry it out and again and should be fine, thats what my brother did when sending home some Australian red soil...

The USDA wouldn't be too pleased. Soil, unprocessed meat and dairy products are not welcome in most countries.

As an aside - the shamrock presented to the President of the USA by the Taoiseach every St. Patricks Day is immediately taken away to be incinerated as a ' bio hazard '.

Same with everything presented to the POTUS. Heard that Gordon Brown once gave him a large box of very expensive truffles which were promptly destroyed/incinnerated.
