That's a nice piece of kit Mike. I've been toying with the idea of switching my 416 over to open bolt, but CBA switching all the mags as well!

This is possibly the one GBBR that might convince me to do it...

To be honest, i was thinking the same. But switching the mags over is only a small job kev and seriously the jump in perfomance is a big one and outweighs the relativwely low cost of the kit, i think anyway. :)

Love the review there horse... Nice bit of kit. The front of the handguard does look a tad long to me though, is it the camera angle? seems they copied ics's quick release function too?

As for cocking handle... Yeah, lefties on the real one adapt to fire right, its the way everyone does it, and has to. It comes with time and practice.
Remember one girl on first live fire with one that didnt listen... she got a mouth full of 5.56 blowback... never seen a nose bleed so much.

Cheers FK, yea you're right it is a bit long, the camera angle doesn't help though. When i get the RIS it won't be noticeable. Really dunno why they copied ics's handguard to be honest...
Ouch, i can imagine that must've hurt alright. i'm actually right handed but play golf, pool, shoot and play hurling off of my left so i'm not too uncomfortable shooting righty:)

What's the felt recoil like on this puppy? Probably can't feel it unlike the G36 because of the weight and balance against the shoulder while firing.

That ICS handguard design has put me off the WE L85 since I heard about though. Would have pre-ordered it only for that.

Oh you definitely feel it mate, trust me, it;s just about on a par with the hk416 i think, recoil wise. The g36 still wins out in recoil terms alright, no contest. Think ra tech have a steel bcg out for the L85, which would improve it but i'm happy with it as is:)

You do learn, I'm ambidextrous myself, i tend towards right handed, and after the time ive had on the sa80, i not only default to right handing it, i automatically select rigth handed firing positions in cover, gets confusing when using other gats :P the airsoft gbb will certainly reinforce those practices :P

by any chance are you using the ra-tech npas found here
http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=34200
if you are how hard would you say it is the install and tune

also i was doing some research have you consider doing a sniper conversion on your gun by using an ra tech m540 mm 6.01mm barrel
http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_580&products_id=34764
you can probably out range the m14 or g39

only adding about 6 inches too the front with a moc suppressor unit

You can get co2 mags for the we open bolt system but I haven't tried any co2 mags on the L85.
I got mine imported by an irish retailer but i'm pretty sure airsoftguns.ie have them in stock themselves.

@theboi This is where i got my npas from http://www.airsofttaiwan.com/goods.php?id=39. I think it's easy enough to install pretty sure there are installation vids on ratechs youtube channel if you want to check that out.

As regards the sniper conversion, i will at some stage put in a tightbore barrel alright, but I'm really just waiting on madbull to release the adaptor which allows their RIS to be fitted. It;s not far off the m14's range as it is:)

What kind of range are you seeing with this Horse? Would it be much on a par with an aeg?
