Anyone got any original fancy dress ideas/costumes? I don't want to go for sometime typical like dressing as a sailor, witch , nurse etc... I've dressed as Pinnochio and Wednesday Adams before to give a rough idea, so basically something knowone else at the party will be dressed as!!

    All suggestions welcome :)

I love dressing up but my costume ideas might be not as "sexy" as some girls would prefer to look. Forget sexy actually, mine are downright silly.

I dressed as a squid recently for the Revel at my college.

get curtains (I choose pink) at the charity shop (£2), make 6/8 tenticles, stuff with plastic bags or old soft toys (anything) and then sew them onto a belt to make a skirt. then make arms/tenticles from which your hands will appear from and tie these onto a tanktop or make a bolera from. Use the left over fabric and a pillow to fashion a squid head from and tie it to your head.

Wish I had a water pistol to squirt people that night. I havn't a good pic of the legs but they looked awesome. like a full skirt effect.

Been a black bird too. black bird is really easy but effective. use cardboard to fashion a very long beak. then use feather eyelashes for some drama. I think this would be nice with a black dress. I think painting yourself black would be best but I know thats not to everyones taste

Another one that people seem to stop doing after childhood is a clown. I think this can be a fun way of looking really different with just bright clothes, facepaint and a cone hat.
