on the 7th of july i sent back some clothing item to a seller in italy in order to get refunded

i ve sent it via registered post, declared to a value of 100

the seller says he hasnt received it yet, it should take 5-7 working days

should i get worried? in the past all returns took 5 working days

whats the procedure to claim a missing packet?

    thanks

have you input the tracking number on anpost.ie to see where the package is?

What tracking information have you got ?

If you contact An Post customer services they will take you through the procedures to request an investigation etc. If the parcel has been genuinely lost (which happens way too much in Italy) you will be refunded the declared goods value by An Post. Be aware though that this can take a few months to process.

the tracking info just tells me that it left ireland, it wont tell me anything about its status after that
waiting a few months is a bit of a problem

Try logging into the Italian postage system site and entering the number there. Google translation should help.

Exactly - try the Italian postage sysytem , But you need to learn from this and don't buy/sell with Italy .

try this website and enter tracking number :
    http://www.poste.it/en/postali/parcels/paccocelere3.shtml
The online service called "Dovequando" provides information on the whole distribution process, including time of delivery. NEW! senders of items identified as "in the process of being delivered" can require to receive confirmation of delivery by e-mail or SMS, free of charge.

thanks, i didnt know the same code worked on their site
it says it has been accepted at the post office of the town in italy from yesterday, thats a good sign, just told the seller to check with his local post office.

to be honest i never had probs with italy's postal service ,i am actually from italy myself, i always send everything tracked though but i am aware that a lot of the standard mail goes missing

Exactly - A lot of standard mail goes missing , and nobody seems to know why .

As you are from Italy , If you have any inside information , please share it with us .

Italy/Spain and a lot of Eastern European countries have Third World postal systems - I don't sell to or buy from them as a result.
