The one you pointed at in your picture looks like its for the traffic coming on the roundabout immediately to the left of the where the pic is taken, i.e. coming down from the top of bohermore. There are seperate lights for traffic already on the roundabout before that point.

Where you already on the roundabout or just about to join it? Coming from which side?

Lets say I am already on it driving from the bridge in the middle lane (like the car from which picture was taken) and i want to exit like I would be going to city center.

(by middle I mean right side lane in the middle of roundabout -not betweet two other lanes, because there are three)

You'd yield to these ones with red arrows:

But not the one in green(which is the one i tihnk your pointing in at in your OP)

Oh & just in case, here's a really handy pic with the lanes all colur coded:

Might make that roundabout less of a nightmare.

The lights you would stop at are marked with a solid line. The line for those lights is at the entrance to the roundabout.

Oh, so if going from bridge to the city center I should have enter lane in the middle after passing first exit -right?
    - and those lights - if I dont have to stop if they become red -whats the reason for them?
Ok, so if I am already on this roundabout I only have to stop at the lights with line -yes? All other lights are only for entering cars?

For that id say follow the blue line in the picture i linked. move into the middle lane yes, after the second exit, where the blue line continues going up.

Just after where the blue line spilts up theres a solid white line on the ground, the lights there are the ones i've marked with red arrows in the google street view pic, if they're red you've to stop at them, the lights just beyond that are to stop traffic coming down sean mulvoy road & if your already on the rounabout you don't need to stop at them.

The lights you pointed to OP are those facing the traffic coming down the sean mulvoy road and are only meant for traffic coming from that direction onto the roundabout. (similarly those at the far left of your photo)

Whilst on the roundabout you only stop at the lights where there is a solid white accross the road and on the light posts there is a sign stating "stop here when red".

I drive through this roundabout almost every day and its easy once you get the hang of it :)

That's a good one. It shows the white lines at the lights where you are supposed to stop. They are to let traffic onto the roundabout. The last one prior to the SC is just before the entry from S Mulvoy Rd.

This is the one I pointed. Sentient 6 pointed lights before that and there is other picture above.

ps: Who knows the road from Galway to Cong? There is a part of it with 100km/h limit. I was driving there yesterday and I think its crazy. Narrow road full of bends with 100km/h limit! If you compare part of N6 from Merriot hotel to next roundabout with 50km/h limit it's crazy.

I'm driving 2 years & that roundabout still gets me the odd time. Even armed with the knowledge of the lanes from that colour coded pic it can be difficult cos not everyone is on the same page so to speak.

At least if something should happen it wont be my fault.. ;)
