Power mac G4 - project ideas

    tl;dr at the bottom

bit of a mac head here (think mac pro, MBP, iPad, iPhone, Lion developer sort of thing!!) and I'm looking for a project idea or two. I love fixing stuff and general physical mods of anything at all. Have a dremel that keeps me busy.

I got hold of a power mac G4 about 18 months ago and used it for a month but then didn't really need it. My mac pro os my media server and all that, its doesn't really have a computery purpose that I can think of.

I don't want to destroy it and loose its ability to be a computer, but then again I don't really need it so it wouldn't be much loss, it just doesn't sit well to kill a mac like that. I have one person I could give it to but I do quite like the look of it and the idea of making it a project

So basically, does anyone have any ideas of what to do with an old G4? think adding water cooling (see how thats physical as a posed to putting xmbc on it..?) or even just modding the case to include something slick...?? I've no idea except for the fact I've no money to spend on this, just anything that could be lying around a house...

Give it the guy who has an actual use for it; it's only a computer after all ;)

I see where you're coming from but I should have mentioned that the guy I'd be giving it to has numerous PC's that he plays with etc and that the mac would be a softwarey type project for him. SO its 6 or 1 half a dozen of the other if you get me, hence my swing to me, as I'm the one who put money into it, albeit 50 quid! so I'd like to get the enjoyment out of a project if possible

thats more of a software mod idea but not a bad one at that.

turning it into a place to store computery stuff crossed my mind, maybe custom made holders for cables with says a camera having a slot, iPhone having a slot etc etc... see what I'm getting at with the physical ideas? this is losing its computer ability though which I think is going to have to happen
