Refund of VAT

    Never been in this position before but Revenue actually owe me a refund of VAT :) I got the confirmation yesterday so was just wondering how long they take to cough up - could do with the cash asap :o

    If you use the online system they cough up almost instantly (within a day or two, it's all automated, delay is from the bank, not revenue I'm guessing) I've found. Assuming you are setup for ROS debit etc.

    I am but not for paying VAT - just my tax and stamp duty. Excuse my ignorance but would it work the same?

    It's a seperate registration... You should go register for VAT on ROS, then you can make VAT3 return online. This is the quickest way to both pay/reclaim.

    If you have already submitted your return and have received confirmation of the vat refund, it should be in your bank account within the next 2 / 3 days.
