Saorview pixel problem

In the last few months we installed UK Freesat HD and that set up has been working perfect since then.
Then we upgraded the TV to get the most of HD and got a Samsung with Saorview approved.

But we have had on/off problems with getting the Saorview reception since, the picture gets this kind of pixelisation nearly every day.
We have a new aerial on the roof installed which which is also plugged in to a booster. (Original aerial couldn't recieve any saorview signal at all).
The Aerial is pointed to Kippure. And we are in North County Dublin.

Anybody else have this temporary pixelisation problem, or any suggestions?

I assume you have seen this website:
    http://coverage.rtenl.ie/RTENLcoveragechecker.php

If you place the marker on your road it will give you the exact direction, channel number and polarisation and whether you are in coverage or not. The channel number will tell you the aerial group. For Kippure it is Group C/D (Green) and horizontal.

Could you get analogue without the need for a booster?

    Either your mast amp is:
    Too strong,
Badly filtered and picking up Tetra or GSM
    Too weak

The mast amp must be near the aerial, but at least 1.2m away from it.

Or the aerial isn't good enough or wrong group.

Did the installer have a proper DVB-T meter that measures "quality"?

    Thanks for the info.
According to the map, Kippure is the correct trasmitter for our location.

I assume the new aerial is the correct one as it was fitted by the same guy that fitted the dish for the Freesat and he was very good.

I remember he had a meter when testing the signal and the strength was about 75% and the quality was around 50% for saorview. Is this perhaps too weak or too strong?

We needed a booster for the old analogue signal.

What is your analogue reception of TV3 and TG4 like now (which the same aerial as for Saorview will receive)

Is your Saorview definately receiving on the correct channel?

The analogue reception for both of these is not very good. Particularly TG4.

If this is the case, and the RTÉ 1 and 2 reception is good, then it's possible that you have the wrong aerial; a VHF rather than UHF.

    Thanks for all the advice.
In the last week the picture is now perfect with me having to adjust anything. So i'll keep an eye on it and see how does.
