    Hi all,

I was wondering can anyone recommend a camera cleaning kit for a Canon 7D and EOS lens.

    Thanks in advance.

Green Clean are very easy to use, a wet and dry swab that you just wipe across the sensor, easy to use and work well. Get the size to suit your sensor.

Cheers Rainbowsend, I wasn't thinkin of cleaning the sensor but now that you mention it is this something that should be done! I would have thought that this would be something that you'd get done in a camera shop?

I bought this yesterday on ebay. Its to dust of any particles from lets say a trip to the beach or just general dust so that nothing gets into the camera especially when swapping the lens's.

Ah right, just general cleaning? Then the blower you have will suffice and a soft lint free cloth and a bit of heavy breathing is best for everything else. As for the sensor, dont clean it if you have no problems with it, ie no dust spots showing on your photographs, and if and when it does need doing then Green clean will do the job at a fraction of what you will be charged in a shop. A very easy job to do yourself, a bit nerve racking the first time but easy :)

Just another thought.....if you clean your camera after every use (which only takes seconds) and hoover out your camera bag every so often, clean the bottom of the lens before attaching to the camera and hold the camera on top of the lens so that the opening is pointing downwards you shouldnt have a problem with dirt on the sensor.

hey everyone, i need help, today after taking a few photos i came home put pictures on the pc and while viewing them i see there is 2 small dark spots appearing on the pictures in the same area. in the top left and right hand corners. i tried taking off the lens and using a rocket air blower into it hoping it would get rid of them but they still persist. i assume this is my sensor needing cleaning. im afraid to do it myself. im a complete noob when it comes to cleaning sensor i never needed to before. especially as my camera is so expensive (canon 60d) any advice on where i can take to get cleaned and cost wise. i live in laois.

It's simple to do. Get yourself some swabs and a bottle of cleaning fluid and away you go.

    Swabs here - http://www.photosol.com/store/pc/home.asp

If you take it to ISS or somewhere like that to get it cleaned they will charge you at least €50.

    It looks pretty good!!
However the point of this is to encourage you to buy the cleaning kit from them afterwards! Which you probably will end up doing anyway!

They are a professional outfit and I wouldn't have concerns about their ability to clean sensors. Based on the last quote I had from them, I'd say they more than make up the cost of sensor cleaning in other areas :D
