Van hops out of fifth gear

    Hi Guys, I have a little problem. the Fiat Scudo i have hops out of fifth gear when i lift off the accelerator. What could be causing this? Is it an easy thing to fix? Any help is much appreciated. Thanx

    An initial guess would be a worn engine mount...

    Depending on what way the gearbox is set up it could be a detent device also but a mount would be suspect no. 1.

    Rev the van in neutral. If the gearstick is jumping around a lot then its a duff mounting. Apart from hopping out of gear, this could break your exhaust.
