Got new job in Google and would like to live in the areas mentioned above as I have lived there before.

Is there any bus that will take me across?? Anything worth my while?

The walk is just a bit too much in the winter :)

As far as I know there's no bus that will take you directly from the places you've mentioned to Grand Canal. You'd probably have to get the bus into town and then get the 77/77a/50/56a/2/3 to the canal. Or alternatively you could take the DART from town to Grand Canal, the DART station is right across the road from Google.

    Try cycling.

From any of those cycle to the canal and then you can cycle along the new canal cycle track to Google.

Or from Milltown, get the Luas to the canal and then cycle or walk the rest of the way.

    +1
I cycle that route every day!
If the OP was a member of Dublin bikes,
they could get off the luas at Charlemont Quay
hop on a Dublin bike outside the Stakis Hotel
and cycle down to a Dublin bike station near Google.
I did hear rumours that a Dublinbike station will be erected near the Grand Canal Theatre sometime before Feb 2013, but I'll believe when i see it.
That would be just across the road from Google - moreorless.
