When I was a lad, back in the 80's, there was a fad for collecting stickers and sticking them into a purpose made sticker album.
These stickers were of aeroplanes and airline liveries, tail colours, logos etc.
It would have been in around 1983 or so, maybe '82.
Does anyone remember what they were called?
    The company that made them?
They came in a small packet with some lousy chewing gum.
    Thanks for your help!

Panini was the name of the sticker company.

Don't think Panini ever came with chewing gum tho?

Also try 'Topps'. They had gum and granted were generally cards tho I think they also did stickers.

i remember those alright and it was Panini alright
i actually filled in the Marvel Secret Wars one and may have started other ones such as Return of the Jedi and Dune
the ones with chewing gum were the ones with cards, i used to collect the Superman and Star Wars ones as a kid

I remember that. My brothers collected the stickers. Actually my Dad worked for Easons and got boxes of those stickers! So the stickers were everywhere. I think the book was called something like Military Warfare of the World or something like that. I'm pretty sure there was a thread asking this same question a good while ago, so have a look in the search.

Oh yeah, you're right there. I was always disappointed when there was no gum.

Actually I second on Dandy. Topps was very "franchise" based (movies, tv shows etc) whereas Dandy defo came with gum and probably did less marketable stuff like what you describe OP.

The series was called "Airline" by Dandy Gum of Denmark. They were first made in the mid 1970's and there were about three stickers per packet and one piece of gum. There were 74 airline crests/logos and 50 aeroplane photos for a total of 124. There were some variations - the same image with two different numbers. But there were also 124 different stickers. About 40 were easy to get and the rest, especially some of the crests, were almost impossible. In Ireland(and perhaps elsewhere) you could send off a small amount of money for stickers you needed and I suspect that many...most...numbers were printed in very small numbers to attract people to these offers for some reason. To this day I am still missing a few...despite trawling Ebay and elsewhere for over a decade. ...so anyone with any stickers is most welcome to contact me. ...please

The stickers if I remember had two parts - the logo and a summary of the fleet at the time.

    That really brings me back!

I collected the full album in 1979. Its held together by tape but all stickers are there. Any one have any idea if these are collectible and what the album would be worth?

Hi Jim, I was just reading your September post about Dandy Airline Stickers...was that you who sold me the album held together by tape a few months ago ? From Ireland to Australia ? ...one way or the other I bought a complete album held together by tape. It's incredible to have after all these years and was very good value. Regards Andrew

Having the album full of Airline Stickers is a great opportunity in a way, because I know that it would be "impossible" for me to peel 124 MINT stickers off and put them in an album, if I happened to have a blank album...but obviously having it already done gives me the opportunity to own this great item, just as nature intended.

I just have to share the fact that after 35 years of trying very hard...I have finally just completed my first set of Dandy Airline Stickers. ...but it's more interesting than that. For about 6 years I have needed just ONE to complete the set - PIA Pakistan Airlines. It has been impossible. I don't even know of a collector who has had it. (apart from stuck in the albums). ...anyway, when I tracked one down...I tracked SIX down. Could not believe it. SIX of them !! after 35 years of zero of them.
