Hi Guys, I was hoping somebody could please help me :)

I've bought a fantabulous new maxi dress & I'm planning to wear it next week for my boyf's birthday. Only problem is, I don't know what shoes to get to wear with it.. It's bright orange with peacock feather design on the top & bottom. I was hoping that I could wear trainers with it?? What do ye think??

I'm absolutely brutal when it comes to fashion, so really don't have much of a clue! Also, I don't really do heels, I'm a total casual dresser 24/7 tbh! :p

I don't think you could wear trainers with it. Just because they're covered doesn't mean they won't be seen. Flat sandals, probably gold, are your best option.

    Like any of these: http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/shoes/embellished-t-bar-sandals_215894993

Even flip flops would be better than trainers.

I don't think I can go for anything open toed, I got a wallop a while ago & a nail is about to come off.... That's why I was kinda hoping some really bright trainers would work. Seen some really great Vans online, bright orange or turquoise...

If you think it will look good and more importantly you'll be happy in it, then you should wear what you like and are comfortable in

Can you post a pic of the dress? How old are you?

yeah if you can post a pic it would help. Converse can look good with some maxi's if they're casual.

The beauty of a maxi dress is that you can wear flats and still look very stylish because the dress is the centre-piece. I'd go for a pair of flat sandals of some sort. They'd look a bit better than trainers but are just as comfortable. Don't go too expensive if you think you'll only wear them a few times. You can get some very pretty things for very reasonable prices.
