    It's the Gaius Baltar sub-plot.

I'm currently watching season 4 (for the first time -- only started watching the whole series last month). I feel the story does not progress when Baltar is around with his stupid cult. Plus, Baltar's appeal was his vision of Caprica Six, but she's not even around for long anymore. PITY!

I also think he should have been sentenced to death in the trial. But Caprica Six could have helped him prevent execution and keep him hidden somewhere without the mumbo-jumbo of the whole Jesus-like preaching.

Overall I feel the writers didn't have a clue sometimes. I still love the series, especially Laura Roslin/Mary McDonnell/Starbuck/Katee Sackhoff/Admiral Adama/EJ Olmos/Apollo/Jamie Bamber/Caprica Six/Tricia Helfer/Helo, etc. but Gaius Baltar is a frakking pain in the arse!

I agree with this to an extent. The whole cult/harem thing took up an awful lot of time, but didn't really go anywhere in the end. I expected it to lead in a certain direction, but it just hit a wall when they abandoned ship

Still though, some good lines throughout his various religious broadcast monologues

why do people start threads that will bring up spoilers for things they havent even seen in the show yet?

I am not sure people should read threads in the BSG forum entitled "my only complain about BSG" if they haven't finished it in fairness.

To be honest, if I am watching a TV show which has already finished its TV run - I would steer clear of forums in general.
