Buddy of mine wants to buy a an electro acoustic for a project we're involved in, he has a good few back home but doesn't want to risk shipping them and also wants something different

He says the budget is around €1k, but even that can be flexible - new or used doesn't matter

Front runners right now are the Gibsons that Waltons have in their sale
both of us have a soft spot for Gibson acoustics

I've a Garrison G40-CE which is about 10 years old now going by the seriel number, that's the standard we're after.

I've played it side by side with a few Takamines and a few Taylors which is why they're being ruled out due to the difference in quality/value compared to the much lesser known Garrison.

The only other two makes I can think of who make great guitars that seem to go cheap on ebay are the newer Yamaha's and Ovation/Adamas

The likes of an Adamas would be a major contender too, especially the ones with the Carbon Fibre tops :)

what other guitars generally tend to lose a lot of their value used?

again quality and value come first over a popular brand name

    * Edit : excluding the likes of crafter and tanglewood

might be worth a trip up for the day, think we might have found something that fits the bill today though

Took a bit of searching to find any proper info about the place

Pity the main website doesn't have a link to the facebook page or any info on opening hours

Are Waltons still as paranoid about people entering with any sort of bag? :D
that's my only memory of the place going in there about 6 years ago
