Safari Stutter issue

I use Safari on my iMac to browse the web and the last few days I've noticed Youtube videos stutter every 2 seconds even if they've fully loaded. The audio doesn't stutter, just the video.

I notice now that it is the browser itself that stutters, as if I scroll down on a long web page it freezes briefly every second or so.

I've the mac fully up to date so I I'm not sure what I could do to try fix this. Anyone able to help as it's quite annoying?

Experiencing something similar here - on Youtube and boards.
    Running 10.6.8

    Are other browsers affected?

They're fine here, as far as I can see.

Having the same problem since yesterday while scrolling through pages. Same with a youtube video but after restarting my mac the video's we're fine. Still stutters on the webpages though.

If the issue is isolated to Safari, try clearing the cache, cookies and history. Also unistall any addons and extensions.

I tried Firefox and it was fine.

I've done this. The videos have stopped being annoying but browsing web pages is still a bit annoying for slightest of pauses when scrolling.
