Creating a logo from a photo

    Hi,

I was hoping to create a logo/crest from this image. I am fairly new to Photoshop, tried messing about with filters but can't get anything useful from them. Has anyone any pointers as to how I should go about it? Would I be best off just trying to redraw it?

    Thanks.

    Try using 'stamp' in paint.net

In the end, using Photoshop, I made a rope design and warped it into the correct shape. Then using the pen tool I redrew the two Cs and the crown on a new layer on top of the opaque image. Not finished yet but getting there. Its alot more work than I expected but I want to learn to use PS.

I downloaded Paint.net just to try it out. Cant see what you are referring to. There is a stamp tool that copies the section that you stamp but can't see how that will do it.

    Thanks for the replies.

Sorry, I'm an idiot - it's the stamp filter in photoshop :(

Used it years ago and I don't think I had photoshop at the time, it must have been in the old microsoft photo editor or something
