    Hi all.

Going unreged as I wanna be as honest as I can.

I'm to most people a pretty normal guy in my late twenties with a fairly balanced life. I have a job. Don't want for much and plenty of friends and family.

The problem I'm having is that when I meet girls I tend to get deeply infatuated with them really quickly. Don't get me wrong it's not every girl I meet. Just ones who I feel are right for me. Within a month or two I will wake up already thinking about them. I'll spent my days thinking about them. I'll be arranging to meet them as much as possible. I'm not the shy type so I'll always ask a girl out if I'm attracted to here and it's usually after this that this happens.

This has lead to some great relationships which have stretched out over years and only maybe 5 girls since I was a teenager. But my concern is is this behaviour anyway normal. Should you not be able to get someone out of your head so soon after meeting them. Part of me says that I should just trust myself and that I know how to pick them well. Another part though says that this is just self justification and I should toughen up and take my heart off my sleeve.

I'd really welcome anyones thoughts and please don't hold back if you think I'm stark raving mad.

I think it's great that you're not shy and have the confidence to ask girls you like out. I also think it's lovely that you wear your heart on your sleeve.

What do you think is wrong here?

I hate the fact that you think there is something wrong with you because of this. In all honesty, I think most girls would love to meet a guy like you - who feels deeply and is not afraid to express those feelings. There are too many of the other kind out there if you ask me.

As long as you're not professing your undying love after a first date or proposing marriage after a week, I don't think you've anything to worry about OP. :)

Wow thanks for those responses. I'm honestly surprised that there are people who find this normal or even acceptable. I'm also pretty relieved too tbh.

I do find myself putting myself on the leash so as not to scare
Girls away and I think I always will but it scares the daylights out of me when
I start daydreaming about girls I've only met in the past few weeks
and am still getting to know.

I think it could be offputting, but probly only if she was teh wrong girl for you in the first place!!
My current boyfriend is a lot like you, and I know girls have broken up with him before for being 'too committed' but I'm so crazy about him, it doesn't bother me, in fact, it reinforces my feelings for him!

In my experience anyway thats normal. All you ever need to concern yourself with when you're getting to know them though is distinguishing daydreams from realities. I've had situations before where I daydream romantically about a new acquaintance who later just becomes a really good friend, and then you stop having those daydreams.
