Not in Newry but just a few mins down the road in Dundalk.

Moving to Newry or near to Newry - lots of places get tagged Newry but are a few miles either side?

hhmm not many boardsies around that way so it would seem ;)

Newry is not bad imo. I am up there all the time.

    Close to Belfast.

There are a few boardsies from Dundalk that I am aware of but tbf none from Newry.

    You working in Newry?

Moving that direction later this year - about 6 miles outside Newry. Went to school there and worked in the 'city' at various part time jobs. Haven't socialised there in a while but if you are partial to all things sweet, The Shelbourne does v good fresh cream buns and Timoney's ice cream takes some beating!

I'm looking for a fitness bootcamp close by!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,800 ✭✭✭The Guvnor

There must be a bootcamp somewhere in Newry or it's environs - the issue is whether one requires a car to get there.

    Have you asked work colleagues?

There are a few gyms but three are very much a car is required places!:)

    Will ask around however.

Definitely one in Dundalk in the AURA gym afaik.

Found one, 175 for 6 weeks... Bit steep. I can't commit to long gym contracts due to my job

Reflex Gym are/were doing yearly memberships for £150 and quarterly for £50.

It's a proper bodybuilding gym but they do have cardio and the staff are decent PLUS the stairs upto it is a workout in and of itself!:D

£175 for 6 weeks is IMO a price not worth paying.

Just back from Australia and going to move to Newry! In England at the moment but heading homewards in a couple of days to start house hunting...

I ony know Newry from a shopping point of view having lived in Dundalk before, so could anyone advise on any areas that are good to live? Anywhere to avoid?

We're a couple sort of heading towards middle age :o Hoping to find a nice quiet small house in a quiet spot. Been looking on Daft.ie but not finding much. Is there a better place to look?

And any good swimming pools around??

Can't wait to get back!! :D

Also NEWRY rugby club do great training for free plus good way to meet lads for all over NEWRY an mourne.

    Never heard of compound gym.

There are two gyms I know of in win business park.

    Bulls and RM Fitness.

    Where is compound?

It's in win too mate just up from bulls the guys are a Mma gym I think but they do a early an late boot camp it's devastating. I had to stop (separate knee surgery) but will be back for my rehab. Female friendly too and are early enough to get to work.

Really that is what 4 fitness type place in Win! :D

    You have:

    Bulls
    RM Fitness
    Sports Shop doing Jerseys
    Compound
The kids place near the radio station.

    Make that 5 places!

Is compound in with another gym or have they their own place.

Bulls have moved to Unit D2 like that means anything to me but it is a bigger place.

Try Bessbrook and Camlough, quiet areas, nice scenery and close enough to Newry but still in the countryside.
