    There are two outside my work. They are slow moving. Seemingly unaware of their surroundings, shuffling and making strange groaning noises at each other. :eek:

    Oh wait. They're junkies. :D

    I think, maybe the first zombie outbreak will be in the form of junkies. Their brains are dead. They emit incoherent noises and grunts. They will stop at nothing to get brains drugs.

    So what about an Irish zombie film?
    ==========================
    ________The Lake Isle of Innis-Z_______

    An empty needle hit the floor with a hollow thud. A mans arm slumped beside it. John Franco was alone in a cabin with a full dose of a new drug he picked up just hours earlier coursing through his decrepit body. He was already on the verge of death, having had been hooked on heroin for over five years, maybe six. He especially didn’t remember when the addiction began. The last few years of his life were a blur and it had been like he lived them on auto-pilot. But this time the rush was different, unlike anything he ever experienced before. The drug was called "xz" and temporally stopped neurons firing from the brain down the spinal cord, giving a numbness and euphoria beyond imagination. John’s body however was not reacting as the dealer described to him. ‘This isn’t right’ John thought to himself, ‘the feeling in my legs should have come back by now’. He was starting to panic. He had no idea how long he was lying there but a new terrifying panic now sunk into his core when he saw this hands and toes were turning black. The blood had stopped circulating to his extremities. His limbs were starting to die and soon would begin to rot.

    =============================

    Whaddya think?
    Will he arise and go now to the isle of innis-Z

    OK, the Junkie/Zombie comparisons are usually frowned upon here,

    But,

    Thats a very good idea for an initial outbreak, a couple of bags of Skag infected at source by some Mad Mullah who has access to ancient asetic manuscripts which describe a virus of devestating magnitude - relayed by the Lord to some unpronunceable ancient Prophet - the Virus is considered harmless to the Devout and Pure followers of whatever ancent asetic religion Bans Alcohol/Tobacco/Drugs/Stimulants/Pork
    So the Mad Mullah infects the Entire Heroin output of Helmand(60-80% of Global Supply) to destroy the decadent infidel once and for all.

    This allows for a scenario where Truly global distribution is facilitated rather easily.

    it can also facilitate a near simultaneous global outbreak, this outbreak would naturally begin in the lower economic sectors but wouldnt be limited to them, so you would have mass outbreaks in the Ghettos, but there would also be cases popping up in the financial District and amongst other sets of society, consider a cross contamination to Pills/Weed ( unlikely I know, butpossible;))

    after the initial infection the Virus can mutate caused by something simple which the ancient asetics never considered, maybe a reaction to flouride in Water, which turns it into the more traditional Zombie virus, then All hell can break loose and those who unleashed it will be eaten
