No TV points/outlets in the house for UPC

So I went on to the UPC website today and checked my address to see if I could receive UPC services as I'm considering getting UPC (the whole package pretty much). Low and behold it said my address could indeed receive all UPC's services. That's great I thought, sure I might even order online and self install.

Then something occurred to me. I live in a fairly old terraced house. I actually moved into this house a few years ago and the people who lived there before me obviously didn't have UPC as there wasn't a single TV point in the house, just the cable coming in from the aerial on the roof for good old fashioned analogue tv (which I don't even use anymore, I have rabbit ears on my saorview tv and it works fine) and that was fine. I got broadband from BT (theres another story there that I won't get into) which later transferred to Vodafone. When they started offering higher broadband speeds I figured I'd upgrade but it turns out my line is old and won't handle the upgrade.

Which brings me back to looking at the UPC site and considering getting in. But I have no TV points. The address checker app on the site says I can avail of it so I assume it's a question of installing the TV unit and connecting the cable from outside? Since there's no sign of a TV unit anywhere, I assume the cable(s) isn't running through my house, but I don't know for sure.

Am I going to have to start pulling up floorboards? And assuming the house isn't wired for cable at all, what's the procedure then? How disruptive will it be? Is it brought in from outside and then wired through the house or is it done on the outside of the house and brought in where the TV point is going to be? And can I choose where that first TV point is? (I assume I'll need a second for multiroom). I'm in Cork City by the way if that makes any difference.

I had it installed just recently. Ran a cable from my roof, down outside wall, drilled hole into sitting room and installed UPC box. Ran cable along skirting, neatly I might add to my TV, From there to my Modem, again neatly along skirting.

I used this link to sign up and paid no installation fee.

an engineer is best to do it, there very neat and do a great job, seems like youve no existing connection so you cant self install. And yes you can choose where you want your points go, and yes youll need a second point.
