So where do people think the great man will end up next year?

He said after last nights game he would be open to any offers and he reckons he still has a few years left in him.

Any county would love to have him, he is a remarkable manager.

Come to Offaly- but can we afford his expenses...

He brings a bit of magic everywhere he goes, but you'd wonder how much longer he can keep going.

I thought he'd hang up the boots after this but not a bit of it. Like Booby Robson in the soccer his boundless enthusiasm seems to rub off on people. Players respond to him.

There might be one more job left in him. Where I have no idea. Galway football could use a lift and maybe a couple of years with us might change our fortunes. God knows we need an injection of something positive.

If the Waterford/Clare jobs came available I wonder would he consider taking on that challenge especially as they are closer to home for him!

Was thinking the same myself, Galway have the players just need a bit of guidance and no better man than Micko to get the best out of them.

Yes Booby Robson was very enthusiastic:D

The state of Connacht he could probably bring the title to London.

Would love to see him bring success to one of the weaker counties.

No, Galway don't need Micko. They need a galway man in charge and be left there for at least 3 years. Kevin Walsh or Alan Mulholland spring to mind.

As for Micko himself, given his age (no matter how much he plays it down), he would be looking for something closer to home. Waterford, Clare or Limerick would be his possibilites. Limerick, if they wanted to change manager again (no need on the basis of this year tbh) would be the favourites as JP's money would be used for Micko's expenses I feel.

I think he is a bit too shrewd to take on the Clare, Offaly jobs. Limerick could be a possibility though. Galway wouldnt offer it to him; General feeling in Galway is to get Mulholland in (Perhaps after next year) and let him have a few years in the job.

I'd imagine the International Rules job will be on the cards next for him, at least that would stop him whinging about it!

It's quite possible that Jason Ryan will move on from Wexford at the end of this season. Micko would be the perfect man to pick up wherever Ryan leaves off.

    Probably just wishful thinking though

looking at his interview with the sunday game last night i am not convinced he will end up with another country, his voice sounded a bit shook too and he had stents put in this year.

if he was to go anywhere, Meath would be worth a few quid.

Jason Ryan is a modern style coach who has a reputation for fun interactive training methods. It would be very hard for players to go from him to O'Dwyer and spend 5 nights a week running laps.

I would think that he himself would like to take on the Kerry job for another term before he starts helping out the minnows again.

Kerry should offer him the job again.

They should be honored to have him.

Limerick would be a good team for him to go to. They've been there or there abouts in Munster for a long time and he could be the one to bring them on and finaly win Munster

Tipperary football is on the rise, Micko may be the man to transfer the underage success to seinor level.

Would that be very fair on John Evans who has put huge amounts of time into Tipp football? he seems to be as passionate about it as any native from tipp. If Micko were to become manager there, Evans would have to be kept on in some capacity imo. Maybe he could be let become the "director of football for Tipperary" that he was given last year.

Imo it would be a huge mistake for Tipp to dispense with Joh Evans completly.

It's too late for Micko to do anything with Limerick. A lot of our better players haven't many miles left on the clock. Tipp will pass us out as the third team in Munster in a few years if they haven't already.

Can I ask what it is about Micko that makes him such an elite manager? I don't know a massive amount about Gaelic Football but the status thats given to this guy really is really interesting.

Is there just an aura about him that makes players step up a level or are there many specific skills he has that other managers don't have?

Definitely agree, John Evans has done a huge amount for Tipp football and must be afforded the opportunity to see the job through.

How can you say that when hes CV reads Kerry, Kildare, Laois and Wicklow he has taken on a role at basically every level- perennial champs, under achievers, underage potential and with all due respect to Wicklow also rans, one thing Micko cannot be accused of is cherry picking, is there still abit of resentment in the capital that he turned you down??

I dream of the day when a guy like Micko trains the Waterford senior footballers. The buzz it'd generate for the sport within and outside the county would be fantastic. It'd be a good challenge for him, possibly his greatest, but I know that he would get the commitment and support of the players and hopefully the county board.

Louth could be a goodteam for him to go to. They have a young enough team and by the looks of it Peter Fitzpatrick has done all he can do with them, Micko could give them that little extra push they seem to be missing.

A team in the same place as Louth would be Sligo as Walsh as done all he can do there

Probably just the aura about him. Other people do the training, scouting etc.

Don't know but his record speaks for itself

4 All Irelands as a player with Kerry
Guided Kerry to 8 All Irelands as a manager
Won a Leinster and brought Kildare to an All Ireland Final
    Won Leinster with Laois
Won Tommy Murphy Cup with Wicklow

So every team he has been involved with, they won some sort of silverware
