I'm not sure how well known this movie is. It was released back in 1968 and was Malcolm McDowell's screen debut (playing Mick Travis). Arthur Lowe of Dad's Army fame is also in the movie. The theme of the film is very much an attack on the British class system.

The must see film for any teenager with pretensions :)

The first of a loose trilogy centred around "Mick Travis" Oh Lucky Man and Britannia Hospital
being the other two which looks at capitalism and then post industrial decay played out in a hospital where weird things happen. If is definitely the best of the trio as its the most focused.

I love this film. My dad introduced it to me when I was 15. Definitely the right age to watch it!
The girl playing Malcolm McDowell's love interest never acted in a film again after it. I always think that's strange. Newt from Aliens was the same. Only role she ever played.

This is McDowells greatest performance(although Clockwork orange runs it close). Just love how Anderson shoots from black and white into colour (shot casue it was cheaper). Just remeber this was released around in 1968 when student riots in Paris and russians invaded Czech. What a time for a film to be released no wonder it won the top award at Cannes. its Certianly one of the most important films in British cinema.

It is a damn fine film - a pitch-perfect blend of teenage angst and inventive surrealism. It's confrontational, angry cinema and yet always good fun too. There isn't much like it out there.
