    What's the story with Perez.

He has been linked to fights with Kevin Johnson, Audley Harrison and Robert Helenius .

Does anybody know what the story is on this one?

He's a promoters nightmare because none of the europeans will fight him for 2 reasons:
    1. he wont improve your chances of a european title shot as he cant fight for it
    2. he's dangerous.

Its hard to get decent fights for him on rte so putting him on prizefighter was a good idea, if he stays on sky he might get to fight some names in or around commonwealth level like sam sexton, john mcdermott maybe even fraudley.

he'd need to get a fight lined up soon though otherwise it will be hard for him to build on the prizefighter hype.

i think hes got good potential but johnson has a good record and Helenius just ko'd sam peter who was a title challenger not so long ago. best to give him another few fights

I didn't know alot about Perez bar that time I seen a replay on RTE of his fight on an undercard.
Had a look at his few fights there on youtube. He's clearly one of the most dangerous boxers up and coming in heavyweight. He's now ranked at 31 on boxrec I believe that's the most offical ranking. Above him on the list he would struggle with Klitchkos. What struck me about him is his great handspeed and devastating finishing ability once an opponent is under pressure. He looked even better when he weighed in lighter for Prizefighter, looked fitter and sharper.
Perez will get TKO's where others wouldn't as when referees see him landing 5/6 quick accurate shots with opponent on the ropes they will immediately step in.
His major vunerability is going to be to be taller opponents such as the two Klitchkos.
I think he is really going to struggle to get anyone to fight him. 30 mins on youtube will scare off any opponent from taking him on. His bodyshots up close look very good.
If you look above him on the list on boxrec it's hard to pickout who he would struggle with. I'v seen Helenius (ranked 4) and he's going to lose as soon as an inside type fighter with speed pressures him.
When the likes of Tyson Fury/Chisora drop their pace after four rounds Perez will go to town on them.

most people would be close enough to agreeing with you. the problem is as aidoroch outlined above . is he entitled to irish citizenship soon? could go for the ebu then.

His job will be made much easier if he is an Irish citizen alright. For instance he can be put on a bill on March 17th with much more prestige to the fight. Actually possibly he has a major stumbling block with working/flying into out of America. Not sure how ex-Cubans manage that.
America is one big market and opportunity to be missing out on when looking to make fights happen.
Be nice to see things fall into place for him as it would bring some excitement to the Irish pro scene.
