    1982 380SL for €2600 + vrt presumably

I'm half tempted to go look at the one in Kildare but the price looks too good to be true so it must be rotten. The seller in Dublin must be dreaming. They are a lovely car to drive though.
its hard to put a price on any car in the current climate,a lot depends on what you the buyer is prepared to pay,as for the seller there could be any number of reasons why he/she has put the vehicle on the market ?.
so it is definately a buyers market at the moment.
depending on the overall condition, service history, milage,no of previous owners + as they are both imports that in itself would devalue either of them.
the 82 looks a much nicer car,all round, but if you do look at either have a really good poke underneath ,and bring a good magnet with you,
    good luck with your choice

The '82 will need VRT paying, and also a couple of years road tax at the highest rate.

Those extras would almost account for the price difference alone, depending on what the Revenue value SLs at these days.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

And neither car has NCT. They could both be worthless (or sold for parts or scrap) if they don't pass the test.

Theres a lot of variation out there, you'd really have to view both and make up your own price. The cheaper one could be realistic, but the expensive one...you have to do a good check to make sure it warrants that price.

Just looking at the corner of that frame on the concrete block gives me the same shiver as when someone scratches their fingernails on a blackboard. :(

I've no spare cash at the mo as I'm trying to expand the business but if I had I'd be over there for a look. There could be a rust spot on the bottom of the passeneger wheelarch which could be the top of something big and there looks to be play in the steering but its worth a look either way. You could tax it for 6 months this year and 6-9 next, by the end of 2012 at the latest its cheap classic tax so worth a punt.

I personally couldn't buy the other SL, its "ivory" here but "taxi-yellow" (mercedes colour nr 623) in Germany so I'd get an unmerciful slagging when I go there on holidays. :o
