THE SECOND Tour of Wexford cycle has been launched by the Irish Pilgrimage Trust.

The Trust, which serves people with special needs in Co Wexford, is encouraging everyone to get on their bikes on Sunday, July 31, for the charity cycle, in association with Wexford Wheelers.

The second Tour of Wexford will again aim to raise funds towards the Irish Pilgrimage Trust holiday home in Kilrane Co Wexford.

Now known as Cois Cuain, due to its position by the harbour, this specially adapted house has been constantly occupied since it opened one year ago, with visitors from throughout Co Wexford, neighbouring counties and right around the country.

The Tour of Wexford will start and finish at St Martin’s GAA club in Piercestown. There are three different routes – 70km, 100km and 150km – to suit all ages and levels of fitness.

This year the tour will be heading northwards, towards Gorey, through the county’s beautiful countryside. For further details on the route and maps visit www.wexfordwheelers.com or www.irishpilgrimagetrust.com

There will be food and water stops along the routes, with soup and sandwiches provided at the finish in Piercestown.

The entry fee is €20 and sponsorship cards are available. Sign in is from 8 .am.for the 150km and100km . 9.30 for the 70km cycle .
