i saw a car for sale on done deal yesterday for €450,

now today i go and look, and the same car (deffo same checked the reg) is up by a different person for 750

rang the guy who had it up befor and he said he sold it today,

no im just curious, can this be done? i tought change of ownership took a couple of weeks, so surely they couldnt have the right documents to sell it on already, or could it simply be the same guy changed his mind and started a new ad?

Well maybe the guy who sold it just gave the guy the VLC instead of posting it. The buyer is probably hoping to make a quick buck.

Yep its a commercial world out there. If the new seller is a car trader then the original seller gives him the logbook. When he sells it on the a new buyer, the trader sends the VLC to Clare to change the ownership details.
Thats how the system works legally.

Not so cheap. It doesn't have NCT so it could even be worthless!

Jesus be careful with the likes of that Fiesta without a test, they can be great cars but they can also be awful balls of crap.

Check the engine oil level and make sure it's right, if it's too low walk away. Prone to rust too.

It was very cheap and 400 or whatever it was, and there was a reason for it. Buy one with a test. (but still check the engine)

Nothing to stop you becoming a trader
All you have to do is register as a trader with the motor tax people in Clare,
Apply for a set of trade plates
Take out a garage policy with your insurance co. This covers you to drive any car in you possession.
I know if I were selling a car and the buyer said he was a trader and wanted me to hand over the VLC to him, I'd ask for proof positive he was legit.
Otherwise every speeding + parking fine makes its way to your door till the guy is caught.

110k miles, for that kind of money, sounds good, too good. no NCT cert or are they trying to hide the real milage on it, could be nothing wrong with it at all!!!!! It's hit and miss for that sort of money
